A Critter-ly Challenge! Host by Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty friends,

Nikki here with a quick blog post. I know, I haven't been active on here but that doesn't mean I haven't been active in my crafty space! ;) I made a cute and non-traditional Mother's Day card for my grandmother. (I unfortunately had to work on Mother's Day so I couldn't see her but was able to send her this card at least. :) )

I was inspired to do this card by the Lawnscaping Challenge - Critters and the Paper Smooches Challenge - Rainbow.

All About Lawn Fawn: 30 Day Color Challenge

Hello My Inky Friends,

Sometimes I think it's tough just trying to find time to color never mind trying to blog about it. haha. So I must apologize for being so behind on my Daily Coloring Posts. Let's jump into this shall we?

I was lucky enough to get to go to my very first Scrapbook Expo back in September. It was the first time it ever was in my state so I was just super excited overall. While at the Show I was able to scoop up 2 great Lawn Fawn sets: Happy Harvest and Spooktacular. I didn't grab the coordinating dies but you can find them here and here respectively.

Day 4: I wanted to utilize the adorable scarecrow from the Happy Harvest set. He would fit in perfectly with my Day 1 background! So I colored him in; I left white space around the image because I would be using a circle die to cut him out. I actually had a boo-boo when coloring this image. I somehow managed to get ink on my little birdy which is also from the Happy Harvest set. I had to think quick, "What could I do to salvage the image?" Since, everything was already colored. Solution? Add white dots!! I love how it turned out!! It just takes the cuteness up to another level. I wasn't thinking of doing it but it definitely worked out for the best! Yes, happy accidents!

Adult Coloring for 30 Day Color Challenge

Hiya Inky Friends,

When I initially colored the following images I was fighting a serious cold... or at least that's what I think it was!! As a person who suffers from bad seasonal allergies, I'm not quite sure what I had! haha I had the sneez-ies (Is that even a word? It is today! haha), a low grade fever, and just an all around mess. Thank goodness for tissues, lotion and medication.

I know you didn't come here to hear about my awful cold but, I wanted to let you know that the Daily Marker 30 Day 3 Coloring Challenge isn't about how much talent, skill, products or time you have. It's just about making a commitment that you will color something everyday in October. That's all folks, no pressure! ;)

Since I was feeling under the weather for the next 2 days I thought my safest bet was to break out my Prismacolor Color Pencils and my new Adult Coloring book. I picked up my book up at my local Michaels Arts & Craft store. I grabbed "Enchanting Gardens" by Nikolett Corley. I choose this book because the designs are full pages and have a good mix of small detailed images as well as large open images too. An added bonus is that the pages come single sided; perforated so you can tear out the pages if you'd like.

I take on "The Daily Marker 30 Day" 3 Challenge

Hello my lovely stampers!!

Wow it's already October... I swear this year is just flying and flying by! Okay so I have only been on Instagram for a few short months (*gasps are heard*) Yes I know, I know, I was late getting to the program but I absolutely love it...now! haha I thought ... Why would I need an IG account... my life isn't all that interesting never mind trying to showcase that via pictures! Ohhhh what lame excuse that was! How did I not see that this would be a great way to get more of my art out there!

Any who.... sorry I digress. The reason why I mention this is because thanks to IG I am aware of the Kathy Racoosin's "The Daily Marker 30 Day: 3 Challenge" I must admit was quite intimidated at first, seeing all the wonderful artwork out there that I didn't feel that my stuff was worth it. But I've come to realize I don't give myself nearly enough credit. So, I've decided to dive into the 3rd 30 Day Color Challenge. You can learn more about it here. Kathy is so kind to provide, prompts if you will, to get her followers' creative juices flowing!

Online Card Class: Background Check - Day 1: 1.0

Hello my lovelies!!!

I'm sooooo sorry I have been MIA. Personal life has been a bit of a roller coaster these past few months but I'm trying to get back on track on. I had the opportunity to take the Online Card Class: Background Check. Sadly the interactive portion of the class and discounts are no longer available but the beauty of OCC is that once you pay for a class you have LIFETIME access to all of the videos and PDFs that are included as well!!!! (Love this!) Jennifer and Kristina have kindly considered the brains of "Lefties" and "Righties" hahaha

Any who...Laura starts off day one with the basic concept of blending various types of inks. Here is what I came up with :)

You Make My World Happy - Distressed

Hello Fellow Stampers,

Here I am with a Challenge Mashup for this weeks card. I've decided to combine a Runway Inspired Challenge with Lawn Scaping - Distress and Splitcoast Stampers - Sketch Challenge SC532. Here are the inspiration pieces:

NoNoo - Spring 2015
I wanted to create a card that had a lot of distressing to it which I thought would tie in well with her cosmic inspired dress. I created the pieces 2 through 4 using Tim Holtz Distress inks, water and stamp. I created texture by using embossing powder and molding paste.
